The Name "BLOT"

To fully comprehend our company and its values, it is essential to understand the symbolism associated with an octopus. We selected the name Blot because it strikingly embodies our core principles.

Oc·to·pus

/ˈäktÉ™pÉ™s/

noun

  • 1.a cephalopod mollusc with eight sucker-bearing arms, a soft body, strong beaklike jaws, and no internal shell.

Our business, Blot, draws inspiration from the esteemed octopus. This name reflects our alignment with certain characteristics of the octopus, particularly its ability to create ink. Similarly, we utilize ink to develop distinctive and visually appealing marketing and advertising solutions for our clients. Moreover, just as the octopus possesses a diverse range of cephalopod ink colors, we offer a variety of color schemes tailored to align with our clients' visions and preferences.

  • The term "octopus" is derived from the Greek language, where it translates to "eight feet." = This unique anatomy not only highlights the creature's fascinating biology but also serves as a metaphor for our own capacity for multitasking. Just as an octopus skillfully uses its eight arms to navigate its environment, we can efficiently manage multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously.

  • They can transform their bodies to resemble dangerous creatures. = Blot can turn your brand into a work of art, making competitors feel genuine competition is approaching.

  • The octopus has the highest brain-to-body mass ratio among invertebrates. These remarkable creatures can solve puzzles and navigate mazes, showcasing their natural problem-solving abilities. Octopuses possess large brains relative to their size, allowing them to figure out complex tasks, such as opening a clamshell that has been wired shut. They can navigate mazes, solve problems, remember solutions, and even take things apart for fun. Additionally, octopuses have distinct personalities, as highlighted in the Oscar-winning documentary *My Octopus Teacher*. They are also known to play; in one instance, an octopus engaged in a pseudo-game of catch with a floating bottle. = In a similar spirit, our team will leverage our extensive knowledge and creativity to help your company achieve its goals.

  • Every octopus grows up without a mother to teach them survival skills. However, they quickly learn by observing others. They remember successful hunting tactics for different types of prey, including the best times and places to find them. = Blot researches businesses similar to yours and will elevate your brand to the highest level.

  • Octopuses are solitary animals, living alone except during mating season. = We provide our clients with a single individual who matches their style, ensuring that only one person works with your brand and vision.

  • Octo-moms are dedicated guardians. = Our team members take a guardian-style approach to help you achieve the aesthetic you desire.

  • Octopuses can edit the RNA in more than half of their genes, while humans only modify less than 1%. This ability allows octopuses to quickly adapt to temperature changes in their environment, and it may also be a key factor in their remarkable intelligence. = Blot assists its clients in adapting to the constantly changing marketing and advertising industry.

  • Octopuses have existed for a very long time. The oldest known fossil of an octopus ancestor dates back to an animal that lived approximately 330 million years ago, long before the dinosaurs. = Our team has over 25 years of experience in sales, marketing, and advertising, along with extensive knowledge in customer service.

  • Octopuses have three hearts. Two of these hearts are solely responsible for pumping blood to the gills, where carbon dioxide is released and oxygen is absorbed. The third heart then circulates this oxygen-rich blood to the organs and muscles, providing them with energy. = Blot is dedicated to helping small business owners not only maximize their sales but also to build strong, long-term relationships with their customers.

  • Two-thirds of an octopus's neurons are located in its arms rather than its head. This unique arrangement allows some of the arms to solve problems, like cracking open shellfish, while the main body is occupied with other tasks, such as exploring a cave for more food. Interestingly, octopus tentacles can still react even after being completely severed from the rest of the body. In one experiment, amputated tentacles jerked and curled in response to being pinched. = Similarly, we also have hands and arms that seem to operate independently at times. We are constantly creating, even when we're not officially working. While many view branding and web design as just jobs, we take great pride in our work and genuinely love what we do.

  • The ink has a physical effect on enemies. It contains a compound called tyrosinase, which helps regulate the production of melanin, the natural pigment in humans. However, when sprayed into a predator’s eyes, tyrosinase can cause irritation. Additionally, it disrupts creatures' senses of smell and taste. = Even though our intention is not to cause harm, we do enhance businesses' ability to compete and excel against their competition with our ink, LOL.
